Nelson mandela was born on july 18, 1918. He was The first black president of south africa. He was very well know in the African national congress. From 1964 to 1990 he was imprisoned for opposing africa's white minority. He was a worldwide symbol of resistance to racism He won the noble peace price. His wife even became a powerful figure in her own right. He is the most respcted statesmen. He helped turn peoples heads away form racism. He stepped down after a five year term and now heads two organizations helping kids. he wanted to have non racial elections. Alot of people that were black liked him but most whites did not.

The adjective i would use to describe him would be brave smart and tough. He went to jail for a long time. then he became president and helped all these people out. He changed minds to be against racism. The main event that shaped his life was that he went to jail for so long. He always wanted to help the people in need. He spoke out against whites to help his race.

He overcame his obstacles in life to go on and win the noble peace prize. HE spoke against whites and against racism. He thought that racism was bad and had to stop so he did what he could and he is the president of south africa. He was a leader against racism along with other black people. He is heroic. He did all he could to help blacks.

The world would be better off with him living. He helped alot of people. He was a main leader against racism. HE stood up against anything he thought was wrong. He would fight for his people anytime. We can learn to stand up for what we believe in and not to back down. We should stick with our beliefs and not change because of something that happened. We learn how we can deal with our problems through what he did.
